Why do I think that it is your mindset and not your skill? Well, you showed it yourself. Now, you don't have to go that extreme (he plays for content and gets paid to do so), but I believe that mindset will truly help you improve. I love watching s0m because he has a great approach to playing ranked - he said it himself: he plays to have fun, not to win. Just worry about your performance and your improvement, and have fun. All of these things are out of your control. Don't worry about throwers, or AFK's, or smurfs. Games right now are still a bit of a crap shoot - this is just a byproduct of the reset, which is necessary btw, so there's that.Īs for how you can get out of this "elo hell", you need to change your mindset.ĭon't worry about your rank. Sure, most of the old radiants/pro players have gone back to their old ranks, but there are still loads of last act radiants/immortals/high diamonds who have yet to do so.
You still have lots of people who haven't yet played ranked enough, for various reasons (some taking a break, some waiting for the skill gaps to close up, etc.), so games are still more or less in the progress of averaging out. The games right now are still a bit wonky skill wise due to the reset for the new Episode.
Your true MMR is higher than your current rank and the game is trying it's best to give you a slight push to get you to what it thinks your true rank is (I'd venture to say you'd probably double rank to S3 if you ranked up). How do I know this? You're getting +27 for a win, and losing less than 15 for a blow out loss, and less than 10 for a close loss. First let me say this - the game believes that you are higher than Silver 1 right now.
